Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
I have found that
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a therapeutic strategy
that is particularly effective and helps individuals
respond in relatively shorter time frames than some more
"traditional" therapies. I realize that some of the
terms used in therapy can be unfamiliar to the public,
so a description may help. In more understandable terms,
cognitive behavioral therapy (often shortened to CBT)
helps to identify the "stories" that we tell ourselves
and the inner dialogue that has kept us emotionally
stuck, or in a position of dysfunction.
By helping you to
re-write the scripts and practicing the use of them
internally, I am able to help individuals and couples to
change the patterns of response to the stresses of daily
life in new and refreshing ways. CBT is a well
established and proven methodology. While the name seems
a bit challenging, the actual practice and use of this
technique is easier and more effective than a variety of
other approaches.
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is a
type of psycho-therapeutic treatment that helps
individuals understand the thoughts and feelings that
influence behaviors. CBT is commonly used to treat a wide
range of disorders, including phobias, addiction,
depression and anxiety.
Cognitive behavior therapy is generally
short-term and focused on helping people deal with a very
specific problems. During the course of treatment,
individuals learn how to identify and change destructive
or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative
influence on behavior.
I welcome
your questions about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
and how I can help you.
